ENG Ripples brings together works from my recent painting practice – a period marked by inner searching and rethinking my creative methods. The series includes photorealistic paintings inspired by water and specific locations, large-scale depictions of stones found on the shore, as well as abstract works driven primarily by mood and intuition. ... My previous way of painting had reached exhaustion. I experienced fatigue and an inability to execute planned ideas. Today I can paint only by listening inwardly and working spontaneously. Trusting the flow of creation has become central – it restores joy and simplicity. The paintings in Ripples emerge from an inner natural movement. They follow impulse – the brushstroke moving where it feels most necessary. Each mark reveals something that has always been present, waiting to surface. The works explore flow and the rhythm of being – a subtle vibration that ripples through both nature and the human body. Like a shimmer on water, it may seem almost invisible, yet it travels through everything and gently touches. ENG So Bright That It Blinds&nbsp;You&nbsp;explored the relationship between light and darkness and the space between them. The exhibition brought together realistic depictions of stones and abstract paintings of cosmic expanses, shifting perception from a microscopic scale to infinity. Stone and cosmos formed the two ends of the same scale. A pebble that fits in the palm of a hand and the unfathomable universe pointed to the same experience at different scales — the vastness of the human inner world and the immeasurability of existence. The abstract paintings depicted states of light and darkness: dimness, radiance, and depth, where boundaries dissolve. Light emerges from darkness. Thus darkness is not emptiness here, but a dense and fertile space — a place where existing forms dissolve and something entirely new can come into being. ENG Slowdown explores the perception of time and presence. I am drawn to moments when time seems to pause and space expands — reflections of light on asphalt, flickering shadows on walls, the rhythms and flow of nature. I stand outside of time. In my paintings I focus on fragments — shadows, plays of light, and patterns — bringing them into the center of attention. Reality becomes abstraction, the flow of a river transforms into rhythm and vibration, the pulse of life. The paintings were created over several years, at their own pace, through play and experimentation. Gradually they formed into an exhibition. I wish to bring into the exhibition space the endless freedom of summer, flowing wind, and a calm beyond time. ENG The exhibition Emerging explores the relationship between light and shadow and the presence that arises from their interaction. Something that emerges from nothing becomes visible from the depths of being. I painted moments where light meets shadow and rises from dusk. I focused on their dialogue — one does not exist without the other. Together, shaping and forming one another, they create a whole. I have depicted moments that have deeply moved me. The perception of harmony and beauty in them brings an immediate sense of presence — like a snap of the fingers. They are like gateways into another state of awareness, loosening the grip of well-worn paths. Here, lightness and peace unfold. Kunstihoone galeriis loodud maaliseeria ja installatiivne tervik uurib intiimsemaid tundeid – toetust, hellust, koosolemist, aga ka vajalikku üksindust. Maalidel on esmapilgul tagasihoidlikud loodus- ja interjöörivaated, mis nõuavad aeglust ja süvenemist. Need lähtuvad stseenidest, mis on kunstnikku lummanud oma rütmilisuse ja võnkumisega – valguse ja varju liikumine, vihm porilombil, udu või lagendik. Lihtsad motiivid ja pealkirjad (Udu, Laud, Lagendik, Vihm, Lomp, Tee, Õed) viitavad konkreetsele, kuid maalides nihkub realism tundelise filtri kaudu. Tulemuseks on tasakaal realismi ja abstraktsiooni vahel – emotsionaalne, intensiivistatud vaade loodusele. Oluline osa näitusest on teoste paigutus ruumis. Maalid ei ole mõeldud haaramiseks ühe pilguga; nende omavaheline mõju ja ruumis tekkiv rütm loovad terviku. Näitus kutsub vaatajat lähemale – aeglustuma, märkama ja kogema kergelt nihkunud kohalolu. ENG The exhibition Closer focuses on memory images of nature and the states of tenderness and presence experienced through them. The series of paintings and the spatial installation created at the Art Hall Gallery explore more intimate feelings – support, gentleness, togetherness, but also the necessity of solitude. At first glance, the paintings depict modest landscapes and interior views that require slowing down and attentive contemplation. They stem from scenes that have captivated the artist with their rhythm and subtle vibrations – the movement of light and shadow, rain rippling across a puddle, mist or a clearing. The simple motifs and titles (Mist, Table, Clearing, Rain, Puddle, Road, Sisters) refer to the concrete, yet in the paintings realism shifts through an emotional filter. The result is a balance between realism and abstraction – an intensified, emotionally attuned vision of nature. An important aspect of the exhibition is the placement of the works in space. The paintings are not meant to be grasped at a single glance; their mutual interaction and the rhythm formed within the gallery create a unified whole. The exhibition invites the viewer closer – to slow down, to notice, and to experience a subtly altered sense of presence. Fookuses on seisund, kus sulandumine teisega tundub vältimatu, ent täielik ühinemine osutub illusiooniks – eraldumine on näiline ja lähedus valusalt habras. Näitus koondab Ello loomingust varasemaid motiive – linn ja loodus, kultuur ja metsikus –, kuid seekord on need suunatud otsesemalt isiklikule tasandile. Otsekohene väljendus ei varja emotsiooni, vaid laseb sellel avalduda kihistuseta. Balansseerides hapruse ja lihtsa õnnetahte vahel jäävad alles instinkt ja igatsus. Kui mõlemad on elus, on ka lootust. ENG The exhibition The Sweetest Thing explores intense emotional states – passion and longing. It reflects on the moment when sweetness and pain become inseparable, and on the tension between instinct and self-awareness. In The Sweetest Thing, idea and form function as equal partners. Painting, drawing, video, and installation together create an intensified close-up of personal experience, simultaneously magnifying and shifting it. At its core lies a state in which merging with another feels inevitable, yet complete unity proves illusory – separation is only apparent, and closeness painfully fragile. The exhibition brings together recurring motifs from Ello’s practice – city and nature, culture and wildness – now directed more explicitly toward the personal. Direct expression does not conceal emotion but allows it to surface without ornament. Balancing between fragility and the simple desire for happiness, what remain are instinct and longing. If both stay alive, there is hope. Näituse keskmes oli pintsaku ja lipsuga mees — kord üksiku figuurina, kord osana massist. Maaliline käsitlus vastandus lakoonilisele, peaaegu mustvalgele ruumikujutusele, tuues esile looduse kui sisemise impulsi ja välise, kontrollitud korrastatuse vastuolu. Maalid asetusid ruumis laest riputatuna, luues erinevaid vaatamisnurki ning võimaldades vaatajal nende vahelt läbi liikuda ja uusi kombinatsioone avastada. Teostes muutus oluliseks korduse ja koopia motiiv: üks-ühele sarnased figuurid ühtse massina edasirühkimas, tardunud pilgul vaatajat jälgivad identsed tuvid. Individuaalsus oli nihkes, ühtlustatud ja kokkupakitud. Massis hajus inimene teiste sekka, kuid metsa eksinuna sulandus ta märkamatult loodusesse. Loodus ei olnud siin pelgalt vastand linnale, vaid ka viide sisemisele seisundile — millelegi, mis pulbitseb ka siis, kui pintsak ja korteriseinad seda varjata püüavad. Ja me teeme näo, et neid pole —&nbsp;kuid&nbsp;keda? Iseennast või oma sisemist loodust? ENG Paintings, video and spatial installations And We Pretend They're Not There explored the tension between the individual and nature within the ordered environment of urban space. At the center of the exhibition was a man in a suit and tie — at times a solitary figure, at times part of a mass. A painterly approach was set against a laconic, nearly monochrome depiction of space, bringing forward the contrast between nature as an inner impulse and externally controlled order. The paintings were suspended from the ceiling, creating shifting viewpoints and allowing the viewer to move between them and discover new combinations. Repetition and duplication became central motifs: identical figures advancing as a unified mass, identical pigeons fixing the viewer with a frozen gaze. Individuality was displaced, standardized and compressed. Within the mass, the individual dissolved among others; yet, when lost in the forest, he merged he merged quietly with nature. Nature was not merely positioned as the opposite of the city, but as a reference to an inner state — something that continues to pulse beneath the suit and apartment walls that attempt to contain it. And we pretend they’re not there — but whom do we mean? Ourselves, or our inner nature?
