„Ja me teeme näo, et neid pole“ käsitles inimese ja looduse vahelist pinget linnaruumi korrastatud keskkonnas. Näituse keskmes oli pintsaku ja lipsuga mees — kord üksiku figuurina, kord osana massist. Maaliline käsitlus vastandus lakoonilisele, peaaegu mustvalgele ruumikujutusele, tuues esile looduse kui sisemise impulsi ja välise, kontrollitud korrastatuse vastuolu.
Maalid asetusid ruumis laest riputatuna, luues erinevaid vaatamisnurki ning võimaldades vaatajal nende vahelt läbi liikuda ja uusi kombinatsioone avastada. Teostes muutus oluliseks korduse ja koopia motiiv: üks-ühele sarnased figuurid ühtse massina edasirühkimas, tardunud pilgul vaatajat jälgivad identsed tuvid. Individuaalsus oli nihkes, ühtlustatud ja kokkupakitud. Massis hajus inimene teiste sekka, kuid metsa eksinuna sulandus ta märkamatult loodusesse.
Loodus ei olnud siin pelgalt vastand linnale, vaid ka viide sisemisele seisundile — millelegi, mis pulbitseb ka siis, kui pintsak ja korteriseinad seda varjata püüavad. Ja me teeme näo, et neid pole — kuid keda? Iseennast või oma sisemist loodust?

Paintings, video and spatial installations
“And We Pretend They're Not There” explored the tension between the individual and nature within the ordered environment of urban space. At the center of the exhibition was a man in a suit and tie — at times a solitary figure, at times part of a mass. A painterly approach was set against a laconic, nearly monochrome depiction of space, bringing forward the contrast between nature as an inner impulse and externally controlled order.
The paintings were suspended from the ceiling, creating shifting viewpoints and allowing the viewer to move between them and discover new combinations. Repetition and duplication became central motifs: identical figures advancing as a unified mass, identical pigeons fixing the viewer with a frozen gaze. Individuality was displaced, standardized and compressed. Within the mass, the individual dissolved among others; yet, when lost in the forest, he merged he merged quietly with nature.
Nature was not merely positioned as the opposite of the city, but as a reference to an inner state — something that continues to pulse beneath the suit and apartment walls that attempt to contain it. And we pretend they’re not there — but whom do we mean? Ourselves, or our inner nature?
